Searching for Botanical Brilliance?
It’s time to call the Watercolour Gardener.
I love the area I live in. The scenery; the plants and animals that live there. I love to find my favourites on a cute t-shirt or notebook. I feel they should be as common as daisies and roses.
This is when I pull out my paints! Whether it’s a piece of fine art or creating a new product, I love to bring our native flora and fauna into our homes.
Sometimes a problem needs me to put on my gumboots and wade through the mud to find the magic.
How does the garden grow?
Picking a native plant for the concept
I use photographs I have taken myself or been given by friends and family, and publicly available from reputable botanical websites as references for my work.
Painting, and more painting!
Once I have my concept, I create a cohesive collection or delightful design.
Create an range of environmentally friendly products
A garden of possibilities
I then find an ethical, sustainable manufacturer to bring to life my design - or just enjoy the artwork!
I’ve created a range of fine art and products with botanical watercolour designs for both my own store and other’s.
My background in environmental engineering has been invaluable in reviewing the options for manufacturing, and the majority of my products are produced in Australia on compostable materials.
